Santa Letters Says Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus
Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus
Santa Claus you say?! Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus! Yet, don’t we all want to believe again? Don’t we all want to go back to that place where Christmas was magical and Santa Claus jingling his bells was music to our ears? When our biggest worries were what color were the candy canes and could we pleeeease stay up past 8:30?? I have created this blog to keep some of that magic alive–to let our cares go for even just a little bit each day and reflect on our children and the good that they have done the year through and be proud of them and their friends. Let us as parents and as friends, as sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, come here to keep the magic of Santa Claus alive in the hearts of our children and in our own, so that they can grow and flourish and believe in themselves and in others, and make this world a better place– In the words of Francis Church “Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! How dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light which childhood fills the world would be extinguished…No Santa Claus! Thank GOD! He lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.” Yes, Virginia, Santa Claus lives…
